Cardboard Chair
Task:
As part of a group of 3, we were tasked with designing and creating a chair made completely from cardboard. The restrictions for the design were:
No use of adhesives
Only use cardboard supplied (2x) 2m x 2m sheets.
Process:
For this project we decided to use CAD to our benefit as we felt like it would be the easiest way to achieve a successful design.
With the use of Autodesk Fusion360 we were able to quickly create forms of chairs that we felt would be most comfortable. We then used a slicer add-on with our models to create intersecting panels.
From here we used a laser cutter to create these panels and then we assembled the chair which resulted in quite a comfy low-lying chair.
